Our Story

Veronica Mitchell - CEO/Founder of The Adulting Quest™

Hi, I'm Veronica.

Mom of five - two with autism. CEO and Founder of The Adulting Quest™

This started with my own kid. When my oldest turned 18 and graduated with no clear direction or plan, I realized I had no good way to have that conversation without it turning into a standoff. Every time I tried, it felt like pressure. Every time I pushed, they pulled away.

I knew there had to be a better way.

From raising kids with autism, I'd learned something that changed how I approached everything. Talking through gameplay works when direct conversation doesn't. Structure reduces anxiety. Clear roles remove ambiguity. Games keep everyone at the table longer and talking more honestly than they ever would in a "serious sit down talk."

So I stopped trying to force the conversation and built The Adulting Quest™ instead.

A way to turn those conversations into something different,
more structured, more honest, easier to have and fun.

🟩 About The Adulting Quest™

The Adulting Quest™ is a game-based experience designed to help families navigate real-life decisions together.

Instead of forcing outcomes or rushing decisions, it creates space for:

  • independent thinking
  • meaningful conversation
  • real-world clarity

Through guided quests, prompts, and simple gameplay, families can explore important topics like career paths, independence, and responsibility. In a way that feels natural and collaborative and actually kind of fun.

No pressure. No lectures. Just better conversations.

🟩 Why It Works

The Adulting Quest™ is built around a simple idea:

Better conversations lead to better decisions.

Each Quest is designed to:

  • reduce pressure
  • create structure
  • support independent thinking
  • make conversations easier to start and sustain

There are no “right answers” only better questions, clearer thinking, and more aligned decisions over time.

And for families with neurodiverse teens, the structured forma, defined roles and game-based approach make these conversations more accessible, less overwhelming and genuinely more effective.

🟩 Who It’s For

The Adulting Quest™ is designed for:

  • Parents navigating the transition to adulthood
  • Teens and young adults thinking through real-life decisions
  • Families who value communication, independence, and mutual respect
  • Homeschooling families integrating real-world life skills into everyday learning
  • Families with neurodiverse teens who benefit from structured, low-pressure conversation

It’s also used by:

  • Teachers introducing real-world life skills in the classroom
  • School counselors guiding career and post-graduation planning
  • Mentors supporting teens and young adults through major transitions

It’s a conversation framework not a replacement for professional guidance.

🟩 Our Philosophy

We believe:

  • Guidance is more effective than control
  • Clarity comes from conversation—not pressure
  • Growth happens over time, not in a single talk
  • Conversations don’t have to feel heavy to be meaningful
  • Every teen deserves a roadmap, not just a lecture

The Adulting Quest™ is a way to figure it out...together.

"Because when the conversation feels like a game, everyone stays at the table longer."
